The STD Panel analyzes conditions and symptoms associated with common sexually transmitted diseases. These include:
- Genital and oral sores
- Genital discharge
- Pelvic pain
- Burning sensation during urination
- Rashes
- Mucous membrane lesions
- Latent infections that may lead to neurological and cardiovascular complications
Specifically, it screens for active Hepatitis B and C infections, acute and chronic HIV infection, and syphilis. It also detects antibodies indicating past or present infections of Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 and 2. The panel identifies asymptomatic and symptomatic infections caused by Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Trichomoniasis, helping in early diagnosis and prevention of disease transmission and complications.
