Empire City Laboratories is now recruiting for a skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist. Particular interest in candidates with Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience. Experienced candidates with strong Quality Management training are encouraged to apply.

  • Perform quality assurance review, improvement and audits of monthly logs, proficiency tests, quality controls, quality assurance and quality improvement logs.
  • Ensure the content, format, and professional appearance of all reports are of the highest quality and in compliance with company standards.
  • Identify any inconsistencies with test results, quality indicators and obtains clarification, modification or correction as needed.
  • Be responsible for creating corrective and preventative action plans in response to issues found during internal and external audits.
  • Promote effective and efficient utilization of company resources.
  • Revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to facilitate staff compliance with protocol requirements.
  • Monitor the Key Performance Indicators for acceptability.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that reflect quality, professionalism, teamwork, and excellence.
  • Assist in maintaining the Lab’s readiness for both NYS CLEP and CAP inspections. establishing a process to routinely monitor compliance with all regulatory agencies including (CAP, DOH, OSHA, EPA, FDNY) through assessments and audits.
  • Enter results for proficiency testing samples.
  • In conjunction with the QA Supervisor implementing, evaluates and audits the laboratory safety program as it pertains to procedures, policies, and training.

Example: biosafety, chemical safety, fire safety, infection control

  • Ensures consistency of pathology quality system practices in all areas. Works with managers, pathologists and staff (through evaluation and project management) to improve daily operations as they relate to compliance and quality.
  • Events: Monitors occurrence/incident reports and reports its findings to QA supervisor.
  • Utilize occurrence and incident reports to audit the department to find deviations, procedural drifts and non-conformance to policies.
  • Follow policies and procedures, with ongoing development/modification as needed as related to regulatory compliance, laboratory safety, and quality. Maintains relevant records consistent with regulatory standards.

Requirements:

1. At least 2-3 years of experience of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience

2. NYSED Active Clinical Laboratory Technologist license

Salary Range: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
