Thyroid Function Panel

The Thyroid Function Panel includes a series of tests to assess the health and functionality of the thyroid gland. It helps in diagnosing thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and autoimmune thyroid diseases by measuring levels of thyroid hormones and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH).

The Thyroid Function Panel analyzes conditions and symptoms associated with thyroid disorders. These include symptoms of hypothyroidism such as:

  • Fatigue

  • Depression
  • Cold intolerance
  • Irregular menstrual cycles

 

As well as symptoms of hyperthyroidism such as:

  • Weight loss
  • Palpitations
  • Nervousness
  • Sweating

 

The panel also helps identify autoimmune thyroid diseases like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and Graves’ disease by detecting the presence of thyroid peroxidase antibodies. By measuring the levels of thyroid hormones (TSH, FT4, and FT3), this panel assesses the functionality of the thyroid gland and aids in the diagnosis and management of various thyroid disorders.
